Syllabus:
Physics nature of sound; ultrasound and infrasound, sound pressure levels, the construction and function, basic instrumentation, sound absorption, audio electronics, circuits, acoustics transducers.
Assessment is by one 2 hour theory examination (40%) and internal assessment (60%). Students must pass both components.

Prerequisite: Physics 1, Laboratory Techniques 1A, Laboratory Techniques 1B, Mathematics 1G.

Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Laboratory Techniques).
